Explorer

Explorer is a fast, two-pane file manager. Each pane connects independently to a sourceThis PC or one of your cloud accounts — so you can browse, copy, move, and preview files right now, including directly between two different clouds.

Overview and layout

  • Two panes, each with its own source, path, and tabs. Pick a source from the dropdown at the top of a pane: This PC, any connected account, or Connect another to add one.
  • Every combination works: computer ↔ cloud, cloud ↔ cloud, even the same cloud on both sides.
  • Tabs: each tab is its own pair of panes; your tabs are remembered between sessions.
  • One-pane / two-pane: switch to a single wide pane when you just want to browse.
  • View modes: Details (columns) or List.
  • Toolbar: Back, Forward, Up, Refresh.
  • Address bar (breadcrumbs): click any segment to jump; the home icon is the source's starting folder. Click the empty area or press Ctrl+L to type a path directly.
  • Bookmarks: star a folder to save it; the star menu lists bookmarks for the current source.
  • This PC (Windows): a quick screen of your drives and Quick-access shortcuts.

Working with files

  • New folder (F7) and Rename (F2).
  • Copy (F5) and Move (F6) send the selection to the other pane — the toolbar shows a direction arrow so you always know which way.
  • Delete — with a confirmation step (see below).
  • Upload / Download (desktop app) — when a pane is a cloud, pull files up from your computer, or send cloud files down; a native dialog picks the local side.
  • Open in default app (desktop app) — opens a file in its usual program (cloud files are fetched to a temporary folder first).
  • Copy share link — for clouds that support public links (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive); shows the URL with a copy button and a QR code.
  • Run a routine — launch a saved routine that fits the current panes, a quick bridge into automation.

Copy vs Move, and "cross-cloud move": Copy leaves the original in place. Move within one source is instant. Moving between different sources copies first, verifies, and only then removes the originals — if anything fails, nothing is deleted and you're told the move was incomplete.

Drag and drop

  • Drag files within a pane or between panes. The default is copy; hold Shift to move. A ghost shows the count, the target folder highlights, and Esc cancels.
  • From your operating system's file manager into a pane (desktop app) — always copies.
  • Dragging out of SyncThemAll into the OS isn't supported yet.

Preview, properties, and sizes

  • Double-click / Enter opens a folder, or previews a file in a lightbox; arrow keys step through neighboring files.
  • No preview for a type? A dialog offers View as text or Open in default app, with an optional "always do this for .xyz".
  • Properties shows type, source, full path, size, and modified date. For a folder, click Calculate to add up its contents on demand — a cancellable count, since cloud folders can be large and cost API calls, so it's never automatic. Sizes show a "+" when some items report no size (e.g. Google Docs).
  • Storage info: a popover shows used / free / total space for the current source.

Selection, sorting, and shortcuts

  • The cursor row is your selection; plain arrows or a click move it. Build a multi-selection with Ctrl+click (toggle), Shift+click (range), Space (toggle in place), Ctrl+A (all), or Esc (clear).
  • Sort by Name / Modified / Type / Size; folders always come first. Drag column edges to resize. Toggle Show hidden in the ⋯ menu.
  • Long operations run in the background as draggable job cards — progress, speed, ETA, Cancel — and a Show in folder button when a copy lands on your local disk.

Confirmations protect you. Copy, Move, and Delete each show a confirmation with source, destination, and a preview of the list — useful against an accidental drag-drop or a huge cloud copy. Deleting a folder asks you to confirm it's recursive. You can turn confirmations off per-operation in Settings → Interface.

There's no search box in Explorer — use the address bar to jump straight to a path. For recurring transfers, that's what Routines are for.

Desktop-only: Upload/Download, Open in default app, Show in folder, public links, and drag-in from the OS need the installed app (not the browser).
